Fostering Growth at FSSP Colombia:
A Celebration of Milestones and Opportunities
As we navigate our journey this Mission Month, we are excited to present you some inspiring narratives from FSSP Colombia and the St. Dominic Savio Rural School community. These stories spotlight our unwavering commitment to nurturing the dreams and ambitions of our students. Thanks to your generous donations, significant progress is being made in various aspects of our students’ education.
Celebrating Student Achievements
This month echoed with the cheers of victory as our students displayed their skills in the intermunicipal story and poetry competition! The commendable performances by 6th-grader Thomas Díaz Quijano and 8th-grader Eimy Valeria Rodríguez turned heads in our community. Such achievements validate our dedication to holistic student development!
Our pledge to supporting our students’ dreams continues into higher education as well. Our 10th and 11th graders embarked on an educational journey, visiting prestigious universities, including the Andes, San Buenaventura, and Sena Mosquera. These visits facilitated understanding of future opportunities and responsibilities, fueling their career aspirations.
Another wave of achievement swept across our community on October 7. Our student-led textile workshop received significant admiration at a local art, craft, and entrepreneurship fair hosted at the Forest Convention Center. A hearty congratulations to all participating students – your talent and hard work have certainly paid dividends!
Building a Strong School Community
St. Dominic Savio Rural school conducted a Parent Workshop on Emotion Management led by a seasoned psychologist. This initiative reinforces our commitment to mental well-being, highlighting the importance of parental involvement in fostering a healthy emotional environment.
The school’s Agropedagogical Farm Program (Granja Agropedagógica CCSDS), coupled with our financial and economic education training, offers our students a unique learning experience lining life skills with nature and economics.
